About

A diverse community of young and old, making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Grace is a diverse community of young and old dedicated to making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Whether you are looking for a new church or have never been to church, we pray that you will come to find the family and community you have been searching for at Grace.

What we are about

The United Methodist Church forms disciples of Jesus Christ who, empowered by the Holy Spirit, love boldly, serve joyfully, and lead courageously in local communities and worldwide connections.

Love Boldly

We passionately love God and, like Jesus, embrace and include people of every age, nation, race, gender, and walk of life. (Matthew 22:37–39 | John 13:34–35)

Serve Joyfully

With the heart of Christ, we journey alongside the most vulnerable among us, offering care and compassion with joy. (Psalm 100:1 | Nehemiah 8:10 | John 13:14–15 | 1 Peter 4:10)

Lead Courageously

Following Jesus’ example, we resist and dismantle all systems of evil, injustice, and oppression, striving for peace, justice, and reconciliation. (Joshua 1:9 | Ephesians 6:10)

Where we meet

Grandview YMCA, 4700 Camp Grandview Rd, Millbrook, AL 36054.

Our story

Grace United Methodist began with a group of like-minded United Methodists who shared a common vision of being a United Methodist presence in the Prattville area. In the wake of disaffiliation, a United Methodist community gathered in the meeting room of the Hampton Inn and Suites in Prattville, AL, on March 26th, 2023. During this gathering, faithful United Methodists gathered in worship led by Rev. Chris McCain and shared in the hopes of being a part of a new community they felt God was calling them to.

This community would continue to meet in the meeting room of the hotel until finding a home at the Grandview YMCA in May of 2023. Today, this gathering has continued to call the Grandview YMCA home and also found its name, Grace United Methodist Church. From the early days in a hotel meeting room, Grace has sought to be more than just a place to worship. We are a community of faith committed to sharing God’s love, serving our neighbors, and welcoming all people. What began in a hotel meeting room has grown into a vibrant and welcoming congregation, offering worship, fellowship, and ministry opportunities for all ages.

Our story is still being written, and we believe God is continuing to call us to plant seeds of grace and hope in the Prattville community and beyond.
